Sample of script:

Broadcast # 1

SFX:  horse hoof beats, in the form of “clop, clop, clop, slide”, repeated over and over. This SFX is continued in the background throughout the dialog until specifically terminated in the instructions.

Chip: So I says to Marty, “Marty, why don’t y’all just come and see what can be done with the water, make it fit to drink?”

Bob: Question?

Chip: Yep, fire away, y’all!

Bob: Who is Marty? And what’s wrong with the water? And why do you keep sayin’ “y’all”?

SFX:

Dragnet theme

Chip: Technically, y’all, that’s like . . . let’s see, one . . two . . . three, yep, that would be like three questions, y’all.

Bob: I can see you are into math, how are you on answers?

Announcer: And now,  (name of church ministry), in association with DramaShare Christian Drama Resources, brings you the compelling docudrama, “The Adventures of Bob’s New Heart”!

Bob: Hey, the voice, who is he? Where is he? What is he?

SFX:  Dragnet theme

Chip: I notice y’all ask questions in three’s, is that a trend all listeners should be listening for?

Bob: Listeners? Who are listeners? Why are listeners listening?

SFX:  Dragnet theme

Chip: See there y’all go again.

Announcer: I will have you, young person named Bob, riding a horse across the desert, sitting backwards in the saddle, behind your trusty but not real swift partner named Chip, know that I am the . .  (intro music, then spoken with great flourish) . . . Announcer!

Bob: You are an announcer? What do you announce? Why must it be announced?

SFX:  Dragnet theme

Announcer: Why do you speak in series of three questions, engaging but sometimes rather exasperating person named Bob?  (clears throat) Regardless, I am the . . (intro music, then spoken with great flourish) . . . Announcer!

Bob: There is that music again! Where is that music coming from? What is the significance of that music? Is that music really necessary?

SFX:  Dragnet theme

Announcer:  tsk clicks tongue, annoyed, impatient: Amateurs! Oh, very well! The music is coming from the sound room; we were able to purchase a cheap yet effective CD with special sound effects. See . . . like this . . .

SFX:  a number of varied sound effects

Announcer: Wasn’t that incredibly compelling?

Bob: I was gonna go for incredibly loud, but that’s only a personal thingie.

Chip: Loud is not all entirely bad. Why I remember back in the old days when . . ..

Announcer: Yes Chip, mildly interesting but somewhat underwhelming person that you are?

Chip: I just remembered, I don’t remember back in the old days, mainly see’ns how I wasn’t even around in the old days. But I did hear a radio drama of Boston Blackie once.

Announcer: Speaking of highly engaging radio drama, perhaps we oughta continue along with ours? A reminder that I am the . . . .  (intro music, then spoken with great flourish) . . . Announcer!

Bob: And I, in order to bring listeners back to the essence of this piece say . . There is that music again! Where is that music coming from? What is the significance of that music? Is that music really necessary?

SFX:  Dragnet theme

Announcer: Let’s see now, I will look back in my notes . . . .
