Setting: The setting would be an office Christmas party (Christmas Eve morning), set is a simple office with desks, table, computer, phone, papers, box of chocolates
Could have holiday decorations

Cast: 5 office female workers

Costumes: office appropriate clothing, could wear holiday decorations

Sample of script:

all actors are busy at desks, filing, typing, on phone

Twila: Hey, listen up guys, see the time 11:45, what day is it people?

other actors look up from what they are doing, end their tasks, and slowly join Twila

Twila: It is Christmas Eve, people! Remember our tradition here at Service Distributors! We knock off work at noon on Christmas Eve, so let’s get at it! Besides, hub and I leave for Ski World in less than two hours, and I still have tons of packing to do!
Donna: Wow, lucky you, Ski World! Must be nice!
Alice: Yeh, yeh, Donna, our collective hearts are bleeding for you! What are you doing? You and your family are going to Banff, that gorgeous cabin in the woods! What a way to spend Christmas!
Rhonda: Hey, break out the chocolates that your supplier brought you, Debbie! My diet is officially on hold until January 2nd!
Debbie hands out chocolates to all
Twila: Say, Debbie, what about you? What is the fancy-free single girl planning for Christmas?
Donna: I envy you! What my husband and I wouldn’t give to get away without kids! All I can say, Debbie, enjoy it while it lasts!
Rhonda: We don’t have kids, but I could stand to leave Roger at home and have a ho ho ho happy holiday time all by myself!
Alice: I hear ya! There are worse things than trying to entertain my family over the holiday season, but I haven’t had the pleasure of enjoying them!
Twila: What are you doing for the holidays, Debbie? Going back home?
Debbie: No, not this year, everyone has plans.
Donna: Well, but you aren’t going to be alone are you?
Debbie: Alone? . . . . Me, no, not a chance . . .company, . . . yes company coming.
Rhonda: Oh, realllllly now? And just who would this mystery guy be anyhow? Anything we should know about this Debbie?
Alice: What’s his name, Debbie, huh, gonna tell us, or do we have to come around and snoop on you?
Debbie: Come around? No, no, . . .well, we will be gone most of the time, the three of us, busy, plans.
Twila: Three? Oh my! Now this is getting juicy, isn’t it? Tell us more, names, social security numbers, we are all ears!
Debbie: Names? Well, there is Sam. Yes, and Goldie.
Donna: Oh, really! We really do need to know more about . . . .
talk stops, all actors except Debbie freeze, Debbie moves forward a step down stage
Debbie: Yeh, some wild party! Wonder what they’d say if I told them that Sam is my cat and Goldie is a goldfish.
Man, I hate this time of year!

It’s afternoon, Christmas Eve, and all employees are leaving.
Each of the ladies talk of their exciting plans for Christmas, but what they don’t share is that there is no excitement, no happiness ahead. Being the lady of the house each knows they will be called on to do the planning and the doing, with no opportunity for a fun or happy time.
Many people, especially females, find Christmas to be the loneliest season of the year.
