Morgan: So I said to her, “You aren’t real big on patience, are you?”

Jan: I can see that Morgan, don’cha just hate it with the people who have no patience?

Terry: I used to have a friend like that.

Morgan: You did Terry?

Terry: Did what Jan?

Morgan: Had an impatient friend?

Terry, confused: Which one?

Morgan, getting frustrated: The one who was impatient.

Terry: Sorry, I don’t have any friend who is impatient . . but what I was telling you about was my friend who always ran out of breath when she ran a lot.

Jan: Maybe we go back to the beginning and start over?

Morgan: Yeh, Jan, back to . . . (loud, to Terry) . . . impatience!

Terry: I am good to go with that.

Jan: Morgan, I remember when I was a kid, neighbour of ours she had a poem kinda thingie she always used to say. . . . .

Patience is a virtue
Possess it if you can
It’s seldom found in women
And never found in men.

Terry: Wow Jan! That’s deep! Someday I am gonna get up real early in the morning, write me a poem.

Morgan: Really? I didn’t know you wrote poetry.

Terry, proudly: Remember Mrs. Thompson?

Morgan: Our third grade teacher?

Terry: Yep, Mrs. Thompson, she was one of the first in a long line of teachers who spoke to my poetry writing ability.

Morgan: Really? Mrs. Thompson said you had talent in poetry writing?

Terry: Oh my goodness no! Mrs. Thompson said I couldn’t write a poem if my life depended on it, and that I should avoid wordcrafting like the plague.

Morgan, very annoyed: And after all this Terry, your point is . . .?

Jan: Patience . . patience, Morgan. Have patience.

Terry: Bible talks about patience you know.
