Peer Pressure

Peer Pressure

$16.00 (USD)

Beware of peer pressure from those with whom we associate. We can be “pulled down” if our love for the Lord is not pure. Trust Jesus.

Sample of script:

Tim: Hey guys, how are ya?

Andrew: Tim! Doin’ well. What’s that you got over your left shoulder?

Tim: My sweater. All of the cool dudes are wearing their sweaters over their left shoulders, it’s the in thing to do, don’t you know?

everyone except Gloria silently and trying not to be seen, places sweater over their left shoulder

Gloria: Not me, I’m an individualist, I don’t go along with the crowd.

Maria: You mean you aren’t gonna put your sweater over your left shoulder? Goody-goody huh? Tell me, what will a little sweater over the left shoulder ever do to hurt you?

Bill: Chicken Gloria!

Jenna: Gloria’s mom told little Gloria not to wear her sweater over little left shoulder!

all of the actors crowd around Gloria, mocking, shaming Gloria

Gloria: Look, I said I’m an individualist. It’s not that I don’t want to wear my sweater over my shoulder.

Dorothy: Oh, sure! Sweet little Gloria, Momma won’t let her wear her sweater over her left shoulder!

Gloria: Look, I told you guys, it has nothing to do with my sweater over my left shoulder. It’s just that . . .

Tim: It’s just that Gloria is a chicken, that’s what, afraid to wear sweater over her left shoulder!

Gloria: Amnot!

Tim: Are too!

Gloria: Am not . . .It’s just that I . . .I . . .I wear my sweater over my right shoulder, so there!

Dorothy: Wooohooo! Gloria! Way cool! Sure more cool than you Tim! Sweater over left shoulder is mighty lame methinks! All right Gloria!

all actors lovingly crowd around Gloria, touching her, leaving Tim on his own, obviously envious of Gloria

Tim: Maybe you little children didn’t know, a sweater over right shoulder is last year’s in thing.

slowly crowd begins to quiet, listen to Tim

Tim: I said, a sweater over left shoulder is last year’s in thing! And last year is trez un-cool.

Gloria: And I suppose you have something more cool, Tim? We all know that a sweater over your left shoulder doesn’t cut it today! Go away un-cool person!

some of the crowd come back to Gloria, many show they aren’t sure which one to be with

Tim: You got it baby! The cool is . . . sweater over left shoulder . . .

(some of crowd starts to boo,

Tim waves down their noise) I said, sweater over left shoulder and . . . . holding right wrist with left hand.
