Description
Part 3 of an 8 part drama.
In this segment the women meet their domestic help, who just happens to be Molly the gorilla. And Molly takes personal care of Connie. And it is also very evident that God is in control in this expedition.

It is a jungle out there, and a group of women are going on safari. When there they meet up with all kinds of people, (some of whom are really animals . . no, like, they are actually animals). Add a reporter from BBC London and jungle locals and you have . . not sure what you have, but it is fun.
In Segment2 to Segment8, (SHOWN BELOW), a (new) rendition of the old song, “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” is used to bring out a theme, or simply to be silly. . . (there is a lot of silly in this script actually), but excellent learning about being a Christian.

Sketch 1 (Opening) sees the planning for the safari going on. (20 minutes)

Sketch #3 – Molly the Gorilla
Actors: Christa, Monica, Jean, Alma, Connie, Becky, Ontondra, Molly
other actors are onstage, having breakfast, Connie comes on stage stretching
Connie: Man that was some kind of night! . . I slept like a baby, just as though I was being rocked to sleep in my dear Momma’s arms.
Monica: Well, fact is that . .
Connie: I know, I know, you’re gonna say it is the jungle air puts everyone to sleep.
Monica: No, I was gonna say that . .
Connie: And you were gonna say we were just so exhausted from all the travel and doing things here in the jungle that everyone of us just dozed right off.
Monica: Actually no, I was gonna say that . .
Connie: Look I know better . . anyways, I am gonna go brush my teeth before I tear into this gorgeous looking breakfast.
Connie leaves the stage
Jean: Do we dare tell her?
Alma: Tell Connie what?
Ontondra: Well it seems that Molly has decided to be a personal servant to Connie.
Alma: Molly? . . You mean Molly the . .
Jean: Yes Molly the gorilla.
Ontondra: I have never seen anything like it, I went by Connie’s tent last night, here’s Connie fast asleep and Molly fanning Connie to keep her cool.
Christa: Well when you called me to come see I just couldn’t believe my eyes, Molly rocking Connie’s bed, crooning a lullaby!
Jean: You haven’t lived until you have heard a big gorilla crooner!
Alma: But is she going to be safe?
Monica: Molly will be fine.
Alma: I meant is Connie going to be safe around that big gorilla?
Christa: Better have a look for yourself.
Connie comes on stage, Molly holding an parasol over Connie
Connie: Ladies you know I just met the nicest helper, insisted on brushing my hair, even offered to brush my teeth for me, but I thought that was a bit much.
Molly points at Alma, speaks gutturally
Molly: You . . . You go!
Alma: I beg your pardon?
Molly: You go! . . . (points at Connie) . . Missy need chair.
Alma: You expect me to give my nice soft chair to Connie? . . Why I will do no such thing!
Molly, walks behind Connie: Then me throw you out, give nice chair to Missy.
Ontondra: My strong suggestion would be that you don’t argue with a 250 pound gorilla.
Molly: Me Molly.
Alma gets up, Molly helps Connie sit down
Molly: Missy rest.
Connie: You spoil me.
Christa: This could go overboard.
Molly: Molly sing song to Missy, you ladies sing along, understand?
Monica: That sounds like an offer that may be dangerous to refuse. Hit it Molly!
Molly sings and the others join in
