Description
Part 7 of an 8 part drama as a group of ladies go on a wacky safari.
In this segment the women meet Suzette the Lion . . . who is French . . and a pacifist . . and not into eating jungle animals. Priscilla Benchley-Ferguson, the BBC London correspondent is frustrated on this jungle assignment!
It is a jungle out there, and a group of women are going on safari. When there they meet up with all kinds of people, (some of whom are really animals . . no, like, they are actually animals). Add a reporter from BBC London and jungle locals and you have . . not sure what you have, but it is fun.
The entire drama can be done as a complete 120 minute presentation, see “Its A Jungle Out There” on the DramaShare site.
In Segment2 to Segment8, (SHOWN BELOW), a (new) rendition of the old song, “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” is used to bring out a theme, or simply to be silly. . . (there is a lot of silly in this script actually), but excellent learning about being a Christian.

actors come on stage talking
Priscilla: Up to this point we have had visits from several of the jungle’s creatures but I must say, I am somewhat abashed.
Monica: Who had you hoped to interview Priscilla?
Priscilla: Well, face it. . . When one thinks of the jungle one immediately thinks of the king of the beasts.
Connie: They have WWE wrestling out here in the jungle?
Jean: I believe that Priscilla was referring to the lion.
Alma: The Lion? . . Is he the wrestler who comes on stage in the astronaut space suit?
Connie: Nah, that’s the Flying Phoenix.
Ontondra: Suzette should be around somewhere.
Priscilla: Suzette? . . That sounds like a rather calm name for the king of the jungle.
Ontondra: Well fact is Suzette is a kind of calm and laid back cat.
Suzette comes on stage
Ontondra: Suzette, we were just talking about you, someone here wants to meet you.
Priscilla, smiles into camera: Priscilla Benchley-Ferguson BBC London here . . . Might I have a brief interview with royalty?
Suzette: Zee royalty, moi? . . Nah, nah, I am, how you say, just a pretty ordinary run-of-zee-mill type lion.
Priscilla: I detect a French accent. . .
Suzette: For sure, I am proudly French of course, and all my family of course.
Priscilla: Is that not somewhat strange? . . A French lion in Africa?
Suzette: You have not heard of zee French Foreign Legion . . Where you think the French Foreign Legion held manoeuvres? . . Baden Baden, Germany perhaps, eh?
Priscilla: You say you are an ordinary lion. . . But I don’t quite understand, after all you are the king . . and queen, one would presume. . of the jungle.
Suzette: I tried that . . I did not much like it, for sure.
Priscilla: Didn’t much like . . what . . exactly?
Suzette: Oh, zee whole . . GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR . . and . . ROOAARRRRR . . scene. I found I am not that much into, how you say, bite and maul . . and zee taste of some of zee animals around this jungle . . .! . . Yuuccck! I mean you have no idea what fresh killed, blood dripping down your chin warthog tastes like going down first thing in zee morning . . I mean like, ewwwwwwww!
