Description
Part 6 of an 8 part drama as a group of ladies go on a wacky safari.
In this segment the women meet Lucy the Leopard . . . and she is a university graduate. Priscilla Benchley-Ferguson, the BBC London correspondent is encouraged to spread her wings!
It is a jungle out there, and a group of women are going on safari. When there they meet up with all kinds of people, (some of whom are really animals . . no, like, they are actually animals). Add a reporter from BBC London and jungle locals and you have . . not sure what you have, but it is fun.
The entire drama can be done as a complete 120 minute presentation, see “Its A Jungle Out There” on the DramaShare site.
In Segment2 to Segment8, (SHOWN BELOW), a (new) rendition of the old song, “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” is used to bring out a theme, or simply to be silly. . . (there is a lot of silly in this script actually), but excellent learning about being a Christian.

Sketch #6 – Lucy the leopard
Actors: Christa, Monica, Jean, Alma, Connie, Becky, Ontondra, Priscilla, Lucy
actors come on stage talking
Christa: How are your interviews coming along Priscilla?
Priscilla: Not to be negative chaps but none of the interviews yet have been smashing.
Monica: I thought you had most skilfully brought out the very best in every interview.
Priscilla: Really, you noticed that did you?
Monica: Instantly! . . But then professionalism will come to the forefront every time.
Priscilla: Quite so, quite so. . . Nice of you to notice however. . . Hopefully all who tune in will be as astute.
Monica: Some will, some won’t, but you know that you have done your best.
Priscilla: Precisely! . . Now then I really must go consult my notes for briefings for today. . . But, Monica, thanks for your kind words.
Priscilla leaves the stage
Jean: Laying it on a little thick are we?
Monica: Well poor Priscilla hasn’t had exactly clear sailing in her interviews, I thought she needed some positive strokes.
Jean: But isn’t that being untruthful?
Monica: Not untruthful at all! . . Priscilla is a very competent journalist. . . And I try to be positive and supportive.
Connie: I don’t think that’s always possible.
Alma: Me neither, what you say depends on what’s going on around you at the moment.
Monica: Really Alma? . . So you change depending on circumstances?
Alma: Not so much that, it’s just that you gotta blend in.
Ontondra: Being a leopard?
Lucy comes on stage
Lucy: Someone call?
Ontondra: Lucy, meet some friends from America.
Priscilla rushes on stage
Priscilla: A real live leopard!
Lucy: Live? . . I should say so yes . . . If you pinch me do I not bleed? . . Forgive me, I majored in Shakespeare at L.U.
Alma: L.U.?
Lucy: Leopard University. . . I graduated summa cum laude, GPA 4.0
